Rockford High School Auditorium

"Not A Fan" Series. RIVERWOOD STORIES OF FOLLOWING JESUS! Phillipians 1:5-6; 3:12-14 by Pastor Keith-Senior Pastor. We close this series and we close our 10+ year season of worshiping at the High School, with a call for solid and personal commitment to Christ. We will close out this chapter of ministry with a very special time and taking the Lord’s supper together. This will be a very, very special moment in the life of Riverwood.
- God, we pray your blessing on our area schools and we give You thanks for great partners in Rockford High School. In Jesus holy name, amen.
MARCH FORTH ON MARCH 4TH! Today we make the historic move concluding ten years of worshiping at the Rockford High School auditorium to move to our new building on Hwy 55 & Vernon in Greenfield. This monumental event in the life of our church begins at the high school lobby at 10 am, and continues with a processional to the new building, where we will launch our first worship service (abbreviated). Please join us for this very special, once in a life-time opportunity.
Worship led by Eddie Pachuau!

This first full Sunday launching two services in our new building focuses on God’s plan for his planet – describing the dual nature of the things of God’s work that change and the things that never change. The name “Riverwood” is an image of God’s work on our planet. “River” speaks to things that change (you never step into the same river twice), and “Wood” (tree) is a picture of the things that don’t change (a tree is rooted). God’s work is always changing, yet always the same!

God has been at work calling people to himself since the dawn of creation. Today we discover that the way he has done it has changed over time. God got it all started with his people Israel, then with the church, and bringing it to today, for us, in our location. Riverwood’s story starts with a visionary plan at Plymouth Covenant Church, moves into our beginnings as a church, and then into the current chapter in our new building, “He who began a good work in you will carry it to completion.” Come hear and be a part of his new work here in our area at Riverwood Covenant Church.

God’s work of change thankfully includes stories of the life-change of people! He loves us just the way we are, and too much to leave us that way. Today we hear about God’s plan for changing lives, and to celebrate several stories of life-change up close and personal, hearing the exciting stories of change from those in our congregation who have experienced his loving change in their lives.

The twin cities area continues to grow and change rapidly with new generations of people to reach, new felt needs, and new immigrants flooding into our area from around the world. How do we reach our area for the Lord? What role does Riverwood have in helping reach and transform this New Twin Cities? Today we welcome Rev. Dr. John Mayer as our guest speaker. He is the leading expert on the religious and cultural movements in the greater Twin Cities area. He is head of City Vision, (cityvisiontc.org) an organization that helps churches and groups understand their role in a changing culture. Come hear this absolutely intriguing and challenging message by Dr. Mayer.
