what is orange

The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 50 hours in church. The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years. The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. What at happens at home in many ways is more important than what happens at church! Imagine if we combine the influences of   Family + Church… we can make an impact to fuel the faith of the next generation!

“What is Orange?” is our Children’s Ministry curriculum tool based on combining Family + Church! There are many resources available to you to reinforce throughout the week what your child(ren) learned on Sunday.

To help partner with our parents we have several resources…

God Time Devotions, so kids can connect with God while reinforcing each week’s lesson. To additionally encourage our students, when they turn in 4 God Time weeks to their teacher, they receive a free smoothie from the coffee shop!!

Monthly Parent Cues. Use these as tools to be informed and to be able to reinforce with your child(ren) what they learned about God’s word not just on Sunday but throughout the week.

Click on the links below to view the different resources. Together we can have a tremendous impact on the next generation!

“What is Orange?” is our teaching curriculum tool.

Every Sunday, volunteers work together in their unique role to create an amazing environment for our kids. Journey 252 is totally volunteer fueled and wouldn’t exist without the leadership and expertise of our volunteers. Each volunteer has a part to play on our team. Some of the volunteer roles are:

NURSERY:  Minister to our smallest ones as well as to parents who may need a much needed one hour break to refresh their spirits!  The nursery is a great place to hold babies, plant scripture seeds and prayers, as well as visit with your friends while you serve!

No diaper changing required!!!

REGISTRATION: Welcome children into a classroom and help get them checked in, you would also greet new families and guide them through the entire process of checking into a class.

SMALL GROUP LEADER:  Serve as the primary role model for the same group of eight to ten kids on a weekly basis.

PRODUCTION:  We have a team of volunteers on stage and behind the scenes that create our large group environments every Sunday.

If you would like more information about volunteering with Journey 252 please contact Lynn Sommerstad, Riverwood’s Children’s Ministry Director.
