Riverwood's February 2012 Update
Hello Riverwood
Wow, God has been at work in mighty ways already in 2012! For one, He brought an all-time record number of folks to a Sunday service (non-Easter) the last week of January! Also, He has brought new ministry leaders for key ministry areas, He led the opening of the Riverworks Thrift Store (Riverworks is a separate 501c3 non-profit that was birthed by Riverwood and owned by the community), and He has prepared MANY of your hearts for His work through this church. And on March 4th we will march forth to a new church home! God gets all the glory!
Pastor Keith's "Not a Fan" message series has already been life changing, a series about being a fully devoted follower, not just a fan, of Jesus. The series is based on Luke 9:23, "And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?" Resolve to FOLLOW Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life!
Yes, we are passionate about seeing lives transformed through Christ from hopelessness to hope, from despair to joy, from chaos to peace, from bitter to loving, from no purpose to clear purpose. There is nothing greater on this planet than following, serving Jesus and seeing the Holy Spirit make new people in Christ's likeness! That is why we do what we do.
Now, as we prepare to move into our new building we expect Riverwood will grow another 50%+ fairly quickly. Let's lock hands in serving this community for Christ in the new year. You can serve through being part of our Sunday team, through our children's and youth programs, through Riverworks and more...just ask where you are needed!
